The limited edition Kat Von D x Divine collection has launched — and the makeup was inspired by the iconic Divine, a drag queen, entertainer, and Von D’s muse. 

Divine embraces his authentic self with unwavering confidence, and created a makeup style that has inspired countless movies, cartoons, actors and performers globally. 

Kat Von D says, “I’ve always been a huge Divine fan. He was so iconic and so ground-breaking, especially for the time that he was around because he was not only breaking barriers in the regular world just being openly gay, but in the drag world as well. He made people question the conventional idea of beauty and he made something that could be scary to most people very appealing. That’s so powerful.” 

Kat Von D Beauty partnered with Divine Official Enterprises to create the collection.

A ‘Selfie’ Palette 

The Kat Von D x Divine Collection Eyeshadow Palette features a selfie-friendly cover design — “hold the palette over your eyes to take on Divine’s fierce and iconic gaze,” the brand states. 

The 8-pan eyeshadow palette features high pigment matte, shimmer and metallic shades inspired by Divine’s famous look. Shades include: Babs, Hard Magic, Baltimore, Waters, Filthy, Pink Flamingos, Female Trouble, and Hairspray.

The collection also includes KAT VON D x DIVINE I Am Divine Studded Kiss Lipstick ($19 USD) described as a never-before-seen nude shade of the brand’s Studded Kiss Crème Lipstick. It is housed in a collectible neon green studded lipstick case. 

Availability

The ‘Divine’ Eyeshadow Palette launched on Kat Von D Beauty’s website on February 14th, followed by Sephora on February 17th. Beginning March 2nd, it will be available at Sephora stores. 

The Ad Campaign 

The ad campaign features each of the 4 KVDB Artistry Collective Artists who turned Kat and her 3 muses into “Divine-inspired icons.”

The campaign features makeup artist Timothy Hung, character stylist and YouTuber Bejean, and 14-year-old skater, surfer and drummer Max Morse.
